The set is done in the wonderful Art Deco Symphony pattern which was first produced in 1931. This large set has a generous amount of serving pieces. The set is monogrammed with an M in an elegant script. The knives, carving pieces, cake server, cheese server, and cheese scoop have sterling silver handles and stainless steel blades. All other pieces are solid sterling silver. The other pieces are hallmarked on the reverse with the maker’s mark for Towle, Sterling, and Pat. 1931. The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The weight of the solid sterling silver pieces is 3773.4 grams or 132.2 ounces. This does not include the weight of the 24 knives and the 4 servers with stainless steel blades. This set comes with an optional, free, bonus box as seen in the photographs. The box is a felt lined wooden box. The box has surface wear but is effective in protecting the set against tarnishing. This box is free, and is not considered to be part of the value of this auction. If you do not want the box let us know and we can reduce shipping fees accordingly.
