Each candelabra disassembles into the candlestick and the three branch candelabra top. The candlesticks that form the shafts of the candelabras and the sockles that inserts into them are old English Georgian sterling silver, and all pieces are fully hallmarked. The upper parts of the candelabras and their six sockles are silver plated. Clearly the silverplated three branch tops were added to the sterling candlesticks. The sterling candlesticks were made in 1796, and although these three branch silver plate tops are quite old they were probably made in the first half of the 1800s, possibly very close to when the candlesticks were made. The candelabras have a neat design with two arms spiraling out from the central shaft. A 50th anniversary presentation was engraved on the base many years after the piece was made. It reads, “HFB - CEB 1908 June 6th 1958.” The candelabras are hallmarked on the base with the lion passant for sterling silver, the crown for Sheffield, the date letter “z” for 1796, George III’s head, and a maker’s mark for John Green & Company. Although not all of the maker's mark is visible, enough is visible to determine that these candlesticks were clearly made by John Green & Co. The silver plated candelabra tops are not marked. The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The candelabras measure 15 1/2 inches wide and 16 inches tall.
