Fjaa' Description Attractive antique Karagashli Shirvan Rug, north Caucasian, size 4.1 x 6.2, circa late 19th Century, This rug repersent a well -known type of Shirvan carpet composition which has rows of stepped -edged and conjoined a flated,saw-edged medallions at either end of the row. This types of rug are related to ancient Egyptian and Persian Royal insignia. The remainder of the field is covered by a multitude of ornaments and figures. The white ground of red and blue medahil are classical ,but more austere. This piece is in excellent condition with very good pile throughout,kpsi of 9x7,complete rug ,natural and undyed wool weft and warp. No hole, stain, bleeding,rotten or odor.
