Current Lot Fine and rare pair of Chinese huanghuali chests on stands, chests 18th century, stands late 18th/early 19th century, Tall square chests Fine and rare pair of Chinese huanghuali chests on stands chests 18th century, stands late 18th/early 19th century Tall square chests set with corner lingzhi form mounts and banding to the hinged top, circular lock plate flanked by two well framed doors opening to reveal four short and one long drawer, shaped bracket base raised on a later Chippendale style stand. Total H: 39 1/2 in. PROVENANCE: Acquired by descent from Earl Macartney, Envoy of Britain to China 1793. Property of Sir & Lady Coates, Belfast, United Kingdom. By family descent.
