The excellent condition set is contained in its original wooden chest lined in maroon silver-cloth stamped "The Stieff Company // Baltimore, MD". Pieces are marked "STERLING – STIEFF", dinner forks also have "- REG." The plain backs of most of the handles (except knives) have monogrammed Old English "F". or possibly it is an “S” or maybe something else. Beautifully engraved monogram just looks like it belongs there.
