I HAVE FOUND A VERY GOOD WEB PAGE FOR HALLMARKS , WHERE YOU WILL FIND MOST OF THE HALLMARKS OF THE WORLD : just type in the three w's followed by : 925-1000.comOn offer from England is this antique sterling silver goblet and cover bearing the hallmarks for London 1873 and the makers mark of Robert Hennell . The goblet is of excellent size and weight . The overall height is 21 " , the diameters are , base , 6.5 " , cup top 8 " . The weight is 1630 grams , 52.4 troy ounces . This is a most impressive covered goblet , profusely decorated with repousse foliar motifs, applied beadwork, stippled borders and many cartouche . The cover, or lid , has an impressive finial over floral decoration to the upper parts and a good foliar band around the lid rim. The whole has a certain majesty on display, and is without a doubt the most wondrous covered goblet I have ever had the pleasure to own . There are two main oval cartouche to the upper goblet body . One of these is inscribed :JOREHAUT / RACES / 1875 & 1876 . The other is inscribed : MOUSE CUP / WON BY / MRS.ROWE'S BUSHGIRL . Around the base are eight smaller , oval cartouche each showing winners names and dates at differing race courses between 1875 and 1878 .Jorehaut Tea Company is in Assam in India and I presume it sponsored the horse races mentioned on this goblet. The whole is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and is beautifully polished ready to go on display. For your guidance , I use the words " EXCELLENT CONDITION " only if it is ........., " GOOD CONDITION " to indicate that there are no serious condition problems , but that there may be surface blemishes such as light discolouration , minor dings , dents or scratches commensurate with the age of the piece.............. I use the words " REASONABLE CONDITION " to indicate that there are blemishes and dings ,dents, creases , scratches , ripples etc . Under this condition category I will always qualify such defects , but please ask if you want any clarification of damages to any given piece.
