This design is one of the oldest designs in the Caucasus. Art historians date this design in that area to at least the15th century and I suspect that it was not a new design at that point. Kazaks are the descendents of the Mongol Hordes of the 13th century and were primarily linguistically Turkic. The Memling Gul Kazak that is offered here, is very old, as you see, it does have some condition problem, but is an ideal piece for those who just like the look of it as is or those who like to restore this piece and make good money out of it. As we have shown this rug does have some wears in different areas, but wherever has wear the foundation is intact, therefore, easily could be re-piled. You don't have to pay so much on this rug, because both of its ends are completely intact. We have not washed this rug, I am sure the colors will pop out after cleaning.
