Description
ANTIQUE FISHER SILVERSMITH CO. STERLING SILVER TEA SET circa 1938 Presenting a fine three piece sterling silver tea service by Fisher Silversmiths consisting of a 9 3/4" teapot with i v o r y insulators on the elegantly scrolled handle, a scrolled two-handled open sugar and a scrolled-handled creamer. All three pieces are marked pattern number 9403. The creamer and sugar bowl are marked on the bottom with the Fisher Silversmiths Co. hallmark followed by STERLING 9403 . The teapot is marked on the bottom with the same Fisher Silversmiths Co. hallmark followed by STERLING 9403. The Hirsch Company was located in Jersey City, New Jersey and was in business from 1920-1945. They were succeeded by Fisher Silversmiths of Jersey City, New Jersey, who began business in 1936. I assume this set was made right after Fisher acquired Hirsch Company. All three pieces stand solid with no "wobble". The hinge on the teapot is strong with no repairs. The teapot handle has a very slight wobble or looseness. There are EFG monograms on this fine set. Dimensions Teapot: 9 3/4" high to top of lid finial. Base diameter 3 1/2". Weight 1 Lb and 2.8oz.
