Description
ANTQUE PUNCH BOWL,STERLING LADEL,12 CUPS ENGLAND 1800's Description Ceramic Punch Bowl, Sterling Ladel & 12 Punch Cups ! 1800's These pieces have been in my family's estate for many years, stored when not in use, in a sturdy box packed away safely. They should be used and enjoyed by a socially active home? a church? a museum? ???? The punch bowl is museum quality, made by the English Turnival Company. It was most likely made in the second half of the 19th century. (1860-1880?) Stamped into the bottom is the name Turnival. To the left of Turnival, there is a 17 ? To the right: "P" ? There is also a #: 3501 and a 5 written on the bottom? ! The bowl is 19" across, 10" high, the base 11 1/2" in diameter. I have not officially weighed this, but I would guess it weighs between 12-15 lbs. (heavy - I've always washed it either on a table or in the bathtub.) There are no chips or cracks but there is a little wear to the very top edge, some even crackling on the interior, and staining from age on the bottom which is not visable at all when in use. (see photos) If anyone does have more info on the company, I would greatly appreciate any knowledge shared. The Large Sterling Silver Punch Ladel was made by the Howard Sterling CO.(1878-1902) marked with the clover leaf logo with two others and marked Sterling. Monogramed with a "C" Large... Beautiful... Heavy.... It measures 12" in length. The bowl is 4" across x 3 3/4". It has been very well cared for and stored for many years. The punch cups I believe are newer but are in perfect condition having always been kept in their original box when not in use. This auction allows you to make any offer you wish for my consideration.
