Around the outside of the King, written in Latin, is the phrase: ORA PRO ME OP DOMINE.  Underneath this are the silver hallmarks, a castle in a circle, the silversmith's mark: AM, and the Assayer's mark: SG, which is from Simon Groth (1863-1904). The front side of the bowl has a woman, perhaps the queen or a midwife, holding two infants, one with a crown on his head, the prince. Around the outside of this is the phrase: NO OG BEWAR ME G FRA TEN EWG DO MARIA JELP AF ALLE MIN.  (If anyone knows that these Latin phrases are, please let us know.) The handle of the spoon is twisted and there is a crown at the top of the handle. It is  7" long and the bowl is 2 1/4" wide, 2 1/2" long. It weighs almost 51 grams.      This sterling silver spoon is in excellent vintage condition for it's age. There are little or no surface marks, no damage and it has a beautiful patina. See pictures for details.
