The handles are of asymmetric rocaille form, the spoon bowls finely engraved with floral foliate motifs, arabesques, rocaille, all with light vermeil (gold) wash to give the mixed metal look I am so fond of. Elegant little details, perfectly executed, make this dessert service utterly charming. Hard to imagine such fine work being done today; only for a grand sum indeed! There are five spoons, so we're calling it a service for four, with a spare spoon. The serving knife for cake, ice cream....Made by Lapparra & Gabriel in the early 1900's, the remains of what was certainly once a larger service is in fine condition.
