Antique French Sterling Silver Flatware Set 37 Pieces: Henin!Antiques:Silver, Sterling   Simple, elegant classic French styling for these wonderful 3 piece place settings for 12! Crafted by the renowned Henin & Brothers, the silver is the finest French standard: 950/1000 parts silver, and the usual very heavy weight for which French tableware is noted. On the backs are applied an exquisite cartouche with a monogram in the center. I can never decipher these fancy script letters, but I will hazard a guess of "AM" in this case. There is a soup ladle included with the flatware, same pattern, different monogram and maker. A nice point to be made here: this pattern is more readily available than some of the others. So it will be easy to add to with entremet (first course), dessert and serving pieces. The French table is very important, so there are many many size services. Knives are normally not included with the forks and spoons; although we do have some such sets. The condition of this set is very good to excellent. There are some signs of use, but quite minor; nothing worth noting. Also included is a flatware box perfectly suited to the set but actually made for Christofle. These chests are challenging to locate and help preserve the silver from wear and tarnish. Please see photos for dimensions and marks. The dimensions of the ladle are: nearly 13.5" long, 3 5/8" diameter for the bowl, and weighing in at a whopping 275 grams! Indeed, the combined weight of the set is 2520 grams.
