This is a magnificent set and in excellent condition, although the storage chest has seen better days. Each piece bears the manufacturers hallmark "E.C", plus the French governments "Head of the Minerva - 1" hallmark certifying 950 sterling silver. I haven't been able to identify the manufacturer's hallmark, but this set is of comparable quality to those produced by other well known French silversmiths such as Christofle, Odiot, Tetard Freres, etc. These large European pieces feel massive in the hand but are perfectly balanced for fine dinning.  This is an extremely high quality set, check the weights and measures below, and was probably privately commissioned.
