I am selling a 4th Generation Kanetane Wakizashi. I gurantee that the signature is genuine and that there are no fatal flaws in this sword. The Kanetane line of sword smiths was well known for their good quality swords. The 1st generation has produced several Juyo Token level sword This Wakizashi is from the 4th generation who was active in the Shinto periode. This sword is a good project piece as it needs some TLC. This was a direct vet purchase several years ago and it has been on my polishing list ever since. The veteran has sharpened it but Hamon and blade remain healthy and will take another polish without a problem. A wavy Notare Hamon is visible all the way. I have used a pen to show it. There is one small Ware in the Shinogi shown in one of my pictures. The blade is Suriage and and there is some pitting on its tang. There are no nicks or pitting on the blade. The blade is housed in a WWII made saya with leather field cover. The Saya remnains in good condition. Its Tsuka is Japanese hard wood with plain iron Fuchi / Kashira and silver Handachi like Shitome and and silver rings serving as Menuki. Habaki is copper. Iron Tsuba is a nice Tatami style with Gold Kao. I would likle to think that the tsuba is worth about USD 300 - 400.00 on its own. CONDITIONS OF SALE AND SHIPPING: WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!
