This is a wonderful and rare silver tea caddy by Georg Jensen, superbly designed and crafted with figural trees around the base above a line of beaded decoration and with a simple bud on a stem on the finial.. The caddy has a wonderful patina with all-over gently hammered finish and is a heavy piece of silver for it's size, weighing 344 grams. The caddy stands just 6-1/4 inches / 160mm high and about 4 inches / 100 mm wide. The underside is clearly marked Sterling, Denmark, the Georg Jensen mark (crowned) and the GI 925 within a beaded border and model number 556. The side of the caddy and the lid are both marked also with English import marks for 1930 and sponsor's mark GS for George Stockwell. The caddy is in superb / pristine condition with no dents, damage or repair. Please see my separate listings for other special pieces by Georg Jensen.
