Description
A Hocho Masamune style Tanto in Shirasaya with Chidori brocade bag. Tanto has a deep curve and two grooves cut all the way through the blade. The engraving below symbolizes the guard of a Ken sword or Buddhist ritual implement, probably symbolizing Fudo Myoo, the protector. No flaws or damage, the white dust you see is fuzz from the cleaning paper. There is a small repair on the horn part of the mouth of the Saya. There is no signature on the tang. Overall length in Saya : 15.0 inch (37.5 cm) Blade to base of Hibaki : 9.75 inch (25.0 cm) Cutting edge: 8.75 inch (22.25 cm) Wide at base : 1.5 inch. (4.0 cm) It is very hard to photograph because of the reflections, but I gave you various angles to look at. I traded this knife 20 years ago from a collector in Hawaii and don't know anything else about it then what I wrote above. So please don't swamp me with lots of questions, because I don't know the answers. If you don't know what you are looking at please don't bid. Insurance and Handling included in Shipping charge.
